The tears of the Madonna in the house of Bettina Jamundo

In Cinquefrondi, in southern Italy, we find the indicated place. Mrs. Bettina Jamundo lives in a modest house in the same province of Maropati. She is a seamstress by trade, but also a great devotee of Mary, and she gathers small groups of neighbors in her house to pray the Rosary. It was 1971, when extraordinary things began to happen in Cinquefrondi.

In the room hung a picture of the painful and immaculate Heart of Mary. On October 26, around 10 in the morning, two sisters were visiting Mrs Bettina Jamundo and one of them noticed two tears on the image of the Madonna, sparkling, like pearls, then the other sister saw them too. The crying lasted two hours, until noon. The tears flowed one after another, from the lids to the bottom of the frame. The women tried to keep what had happened secret, but it was not expected to be: one November 1, all the Cinquefrondi were aware of the tears. Many came to see the miracle. The phenomenon repeated itself over the course of ten days. So, for twenty days, there were no tears to see. Later, the image wept again and again. Tears were collected in handkerchiefs and, through them, some incurable diseases were healed.

On September 15, 1972, the feast of Mary's seven pains, blood was noted for the first time with a cotton swab. in which the tears of the Madonna fell. Initially, the tears were turning into blood and cotton, but, immediately before Holy Week 1973, blood dripped from the heart of the Madonna. This bleeding lasted for three hours.

On July 16, 1973, Bettina heard a voice say: Music then “Every tear is a sermon”.

And then a great light appeared through the window. The seer got up and saw outside, a tree, a bright red disk, like the sun when it is setting. After a long time, large letters appeared on the disc. They said: "Jesus, the Divine Redeemer is on the cross, Mary weeps". In other words, the meaning is: humanity remembers that Christ died like a cross to redeem the world, but man has forgotten, and so, Mary cries.
